Interactive effect of elevated CO2 and stress on plants

Summary

The objective of the project is testing the interactive effect of elevated CO2 and stress on plants.

I measured NSC (foliage, twig, branch), gas exchange, and recorded tree health. I also extracted greenness of understorey vegetation. NSC was measured in May 2022, October 2022, and February 2023. Gas exchange was measured in February 2022, September 2022, and February 2023. Tree health survey was done in April 2022, August 2022, February 2023 and April 2023.

I work with Hannah to extract understorey GCC.The waterlogging paper incorporates photosynthetic data (February 2022 and February 2023) provided by David, Kristine, and Erin, and litterfall data provided by Klaske.

Key findings: Elevated CO2 partially alleviates negative effects of waterlogging on trees.

The project is completed. The paper of NSC, tree health is in review. The paper incorporating understorey GCC data is in preparation (2026).
